ISAIA

Yorkville Ave., Toronto, Ontario

Italian luxury menswear brand Isaia has opened its first standalone Canadian store in Toronto’s Yorkville area. Portage Design Group Inc. was engaged to provide permit drawings, construction drawings, technical support and liaison with the Italian architect for the store which opened in a unique heritage building at 77 Yorkville Avenue in November 2021. An upper level spanning more than 1,500 square feet includes rooms housing the brand’s range of ready-to-wear, made-to-measure clothing, leather goods, accessories and footwear as well as a tailor shop. The lower level includes a social space resembling a bar spanning about 800 square feet called the Vesuvius Lounge with windows facing onto Bellair Street.

Brampton Ontario

Hibuzz Cannabis is a new and rising star in retail cannabis. They are a family owned dispensary chain proudly located in Brampton who love their community and want to create a great experience for their customers.  Their vision is to offer an accessible and welcoming shopping environment to a world where cannabis is legal and regulated as well as safer and healthier.

Riverside Tavern

Niagara Falls Ontario

This is a property that has a lot of history! The 1952 noir classic Niagara starring a young Marilyn Monroe was filmed in Niagara Falls and the building which is now the Riverside Tavern can be seen in several scenes.  The tavern needed a complete gutting and new poured concreted floor.  With a nod to the past PDG designed a sports tavern with large patio, pool tables and a feature bar with cold-rolled steel front.

The Museum of Illusions

Toronto ON

Get ready to fire up your social media accounts Toronto!  the Museum of Illusions at 132 Front St. East downtown is open and it’s bonkers.

Portage is thrilled to be the project designers for this amazing space.  Open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., the Museum of Illusions is the first permanent tourist attraction to open in Toronto since Ripley’s Aquarium.

There’s a ton of wild and wacky illusions and exhibits that are photo ready and just plain fun. Drop by and check it out.
